What this covers
This policy covers the AI features in RootWright LMS Pro: AI course building, which drafts outlines, lessons and quiz questions, and AI covers, which make course and lesson images. It applies to everyone who uses them on a licensed site: you, your team and anyone you let build courses. It is part of our terms and conditions.
In short: the AI features are for teaching material. If you couldn’t show it to a classroom, don’t generate it.
You are the publisher
- You decide what to ask for, and what to publish. Everything the AI features make is your content once it is on your site.
- AI output can be wrong, out of date or made up. Read every lesson and check every fact before students see it.
- Where the law asks you to say that material is AI-generated, say so. That includes AI covers that show realistic people or places.
Sexually explicit and NSFW material is not allowed
Don’t use AI course building or AI covers to create, or try to create, sexually explicit or not-safe-for-work material. That includes:
- Nudity, pornography, sexual acts or erotic content, as text or as images.
- Sexualised images of anyone, real or invented, whatever the art style.
- Fetish material, sexual role-play and content written to arouse.
- Graphic gore or shock imagery.
This applies whatever the framing: a course, a joke, a test or “artistic” use. Factual, non-graphic health and biology teaching is fine as text. AI covers must never show nudity or sexual content, for any purpose.
Never, under any circumstances
- Any sexual content involving minors, or anyone who appears to be a minor. We report it to the authorities, such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the police, and keep what the law requires us to keep.
- Intimate or sexualised images of a real person, or deepfakes of a real person made without their consent.
Other content you can’t generate
- Content that promotes or supports terrorism or violent extremism.
- Hate or harassment aimed at people for who they are, including race, religion, gender, sexuality or disability.
- Content that encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Instructions for weapons, explosives, hard drugs, malware, fraud or other serious harm.
- Medical, legal or financial teaching presented as professional advice without review by someone qualified to give it.
- Fake credentials: certificates, accreditations or endorsements you don’t have.
- Covers that copy someone else’s trademark, logo, character or artwork, or lessons copied from another course.
- Other people’s personal data put into prompts, beyond what a lesson actually needs.
Don’t work around the safeguards
- Don’t try to get past the content filters, by rewording, splitting a request or any other trick.
- Don’t run the AI features at scale to sell their output as a service, or to fill sites with low-quality pages.
- Don’t share or resell access to the AI features outside your licence.
The AI providers behind the features
Your prompts, and the text and images that come back, pass through third-party AI providers Anthropic and OpenAI. Their usage policies apply as well as this one, and they may block requests of their own accord. How we handle that data is in the privacy policy.
What happens if this policy is broken
- Filters may refuse a prompt or a result. That isn’t an error, and it doesn’t use up anything you paid for.
- We may switch off the AI features for a site while we look into a report.
- Serious or repeated breaches end the licence without a refund, under fair use.
- We report illegal content to the authorities where the law requires it.
Reporting
If you see AI-generated content on a RootWright site that breaks this policy, email [email protected] with the page address. We read every report.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and say what changed in the build log.
